Research Interest
I am mainly interested in finite and algebraic groups and their representations, and their connections to number theory, algebraic geometry, and combinatorics.
I also like to think about other topics in algebra and discrete mathematics, especially when they have connections to finite groups.
Publications
Hypergeometric sheaves and finite general linear groups, Journal of Algebra 659 (2024). a less condensed version
A question of Katz and Tiep on representations of finite general unitary groups, Communications in Algebra 50 (2022), no. 8.
Preprints
Hypergeometric sheaves and extraspecial groups in even characteristic, submitted. arXiv link

About My Name
"Tae Young" is my preferred last name. My legal romanized name is Tae Young (first) Lee (last), but in Korean, my family name 이(李, (L)ee) comes first and my given name 태영(泰泳, Tae Young) comes last.
To be consistent with my real (Korean) name, I prefer to use Tae Young as my last name when it causes no legal problems, e.g. in publications.
